If your WiFI adapter happens not to be working under the Windows Server 2012 (R2), you have to enable Wireless LAN Service first. To do it, follow these steps:
- open the Server Manager;
- go to "Manage" menu (upper right corner), then select "Add Roles and Features" (as usual...);
- skip the first page, choose "Role-based or feature-based installation", then select the server that you want to enable the WiFi on;
- skip the "Server Roles" page and go to the "Features" page;
- scroll that page to the bottom and then tick the box next to the "Wireless LAN Service" item;
- start the installation on the next page (I wouldn't recommend selecting the "Restart the destination server automatically if required" option because this could potentially cause problems if something else is running etc. - you can always restart the server manually if needed).
If your WiFI adapter happens not to be working under the Windows Server 2008 (R2), you have to enable Wireless LAN Service first. To do it, follow these steps:
- open the Server Manager;
- select "Features" page on the left menu;
- select "Add Features";
- scroll that page to the bottom and then tick the box next to the "Wireless LAN Service" item;
- start the installation on the next page (as above, using the "Restart the destination server automatically if required" option isn't advised).
